Leaving Everything for Jesus

Are we truly giving up everything to follow Jesus?

Luke 5:11

At what point are we all in on Jesus Christ? When do we grasp God’s presence in our life boat? Have we reached the point of focusing entirely on Jesus and leaving everything else behind?

Sometimes this may be a long process. We may still want to hold on to our bad behaviors. Or we may go back to our sinful habits after dropping them for a while.

The important thing is that we continue following Jesus and asking for forgiveness and strength to do God’s will. Only by God’s help can we overcome evil. And in surrendering ourselves to God we can reach a point of leaving everything behind us for Jesus.

What have we yet to let go in order to fully follow Jesus? Let us pray to God for God’s intervention to let go of our previous ways. Let us be truthful of what we need to leave behind. And let us rely on God for God’s grace instead of our strengths to overcome this.

Welcoming the Family Abroad

Not many Christians are leaving their homes to do God's work abroad but Anita and Curt Klueg did, even as a family with children. In this interview they share their experience as Christian missioners abroad through programs like the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They highlight the challenges of work and raising a family as well as the benefits of immersing themselves in the Kenyan culture. Now back in the US, they speak on how transformed the entire household remains in their personal and professional life to this very day.
