Luke 11:28
Are we blessed? Are we hearing the word of God and following Jesus? Are we actively doing both in every part of our lives? How can we feel blessed by God if we are not in right relationship with God?
First, are we hearing Jesus? Are we attentive when we are hearing scripture? Do we spend time meditating on what we have heard? Are we allowing ourselves to hear God in others around us? Or are we going about our days focused on our own plans and desires?
After we have heard the word of God, do we let it change us? We can understand what we need to do but then fail to do it. If we hear Jesus calling us to forgive, are we willing to forgive? Especially our enemies? We have to accept what we hear and then accept what we need to do, to be reflecting God to the world.
Where are we today in meeting both parts? Do we claim to be blessed but not adhere to what Jesus is telling us? To be blessed is to receive God’s gift. So why are we not receiving the gift of Jesus in our lives? How can we better receive Jesus and then share God’s gift to others?
Could we be failing at praising God because we are not appreciating Jesus’ presence?
If we are Christians, are we spending time in prayer as Jesus did?

Questioning our understanding of Jesus as Christ/Messiah
Not many Christians are leaving their homes to do God's work abroad but Anita and Curt Klueg did, even as a family with children. In this interview they share their experience as Christian missioners abroad through programs like the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They highlight the challenges of work and raising a family as well as the benefits of immersing themselves in the Kenyan culture. Now back in the US, they speak on how transformed the entire household remains in their personal and professional life to this very day.
