Romans 7:21
Temptation is particularly present when we are trying to do good. When we are trying to follow God. We are challenged to see how faithful we are to obeying God. Do we easily give in to evil?
Doing God’s will is challenging because we are attracted to the pleasures of the world. We want to do things our way instead of God’s way. The ultimate battle is to let go of our egos and hold on to God.
But that is why Jesus came to us. To show us the way to walk back to God. To accompany us in our journey. When we are tempted we need only rely on Jesus to help us persevere upward.
Let us realize that even though we are tempted to do evil, in our hearts we are destined to do good. We are God’s creation and are made for good. While we may be stained by sin, we are cleaned by Jesus to be returned back to God’s goodness.
