Psalm 106:20
We should honor God above everything else. Nothing should take God’s place. Such is outlined as the first of the Ten Commandments. But how soon do we break this?
The children of Israel broke this commandment with the golden calf. They exchanged God for something less than God. They preferred an earthly object instead of the divine. Death instead of life.
Moses pointed out to the Israelites their grave sin. How is Moses pointing out our faults today? What are we honoring instead of God? Are we putting God first in our daily lives?
Let us walk with Moses and approach God for forgiveness. Let us expel whatever our “golden calf” may be. Let us focus on how to make God first all throughout our day. Everything good will follow after this.
How much are we thinking about our spiritual life when we sin?
Are we aware that we need to constantly repent since we tend to not follow God’s way?
