Numbers 21:5
The people of God were disgusted with the food they were given. They no longer appreciated what God has provided. The people thus put themselves in misery. By rejecting God’s gifts we are rejecting God.
To reject God is to reject life. And so when we start acting for ourselves we are deciding our gruesome fate. We are meant to come into communion with God to truly live. Anything else is not living.
God presents us with gifts in our lives to sustain us. Are we rejecting God’s gifts? Are there people, talents, or opportunities we are not making the most out of? Can we now see that we may be turning away from God in doing so?
Let us ask for forgiveness to God for putting aside God’s gifts. Let us receive the gifts with thankfulness and praise to God. And let us use God’s gifts for nourishment and in sharing it to the world to build God’s kingdom.
If all we have is a thanks to God, why do we claim ownership over things?
God has given us so much. Can we imitate God's generosity?
