Matthew 13:2
Jesus gathered people around him. Jesus then sat and taught the people as they stood listening. Such is how God operates with God’s church.
God’s church begins with the gathering of all peoples. There is no division but a coming together in the name of Jesus. Once assembled Jesus takes his seat as the great teacher and we stand for Christ.
Are we aware that God’s church always brings people together? It involves unity and an over abundance of followers. We are to expect all types of people that extends to people we may not have imagined. All in the name of Jesus.
If we come together for Jesus we must be attentive to Jesus’ teaching. Jesus is our guide, instructor, and Lord. As a church we need to keep our focus on Christ and not let someone take Jesus’ seat.
If we stand for Jesus, let us keep our eyes on Jesus. If we are part of the Church of Christ let us make sure we are gathering together for Jesus. Not dividing for our own interests. Let us let this message take root in our hearts.
If church leadership fail to follow Jesus, can we remain vigilant to God’s Word?
Do we act as a church community and come together before Jesus with our problems?

Questioning our understanding of Jesus as Christ/Messiah
Not many Christians are leaving their homes to do God's work abroad but Anita and Curt Klueg did, even as a family with children. In this interview they share their experience as Christian missioners abroad through programs like the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They highlight the challenges of work and raising a family as well as the benefits of immersing themselves in the Kenyan culture. Now back in the US, they speak on how transformed the entire household remains in their personal and professional life to this very day.
