Light. Sight. God.

Are we approaching each day by choosing God over earthly things?

Psalm 13:4

God gives clarity in life. God being the light of the world gives us sight to truly see things. Without God we are in the dark, left blind. Only by the light of God can we move out of the darkness and into life.

We may think we are not blind. We may think that we have good sight but that is coming from a egotistical point of view. God came in Jesus to open us up to see the world as God does. Not continue seeing things in an earthly way.

Where we may value things according to money, Jesus is telling us to move beyond wealth. Where we may value honor and prestige, Jesus is telling us to humble ourselves before God and serve others as he did. Where we seek the seat of power, Jesus is showing us to empty ourselves in love for others.

Let us hold on to God always to give us the proper sight. To light our paths each and every day. Let us be aware that when we move away from God, from the light, then we are moving into a space of darkness and away from life. Let us always choose light. Sight. God.

Welcoming the Family Abroad

Not many Christians are leaving their homes to do God's work abroad but Anita and Curt Klueg did, even as a family with children. In this interview they share their experience as Christian missioners abroad through programs like the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They highlight the challenges of work and raising a family as well as the benefits of immersing themselves in the Kenyan culture. Now back in the US, they speak on how transformed the entire household remains in their personal and professional life to this very day.
