Psalm 111:10
Smart people may know about certain subjects but the wise know about God. To understand all things is to realize that everything begins with God. And since God is creator of all we must begin by respecting God and God’s creation.
To realize that God is all-powerful is to be humbled enough to not try to take the role of deciding what is right and wrong. God is the only judge and we are never meant to try to replace God. To do so would be to cut ourselves from the source of life.
In acknowledging God’s greatness we may fear God. It is a feeling that can prevent us from offending God but we are meant to move beyond fear and into reverence. Because we are humbled by God’s greatness we are moved to always be reverent towards God.
Let us grow in wisdom today by acknowledging God more throughout our day. Let us see how God created all we experience, how God is present in everything, and be humbled by God’s works. Let us reach for true wisdom by humbling ourselves before God.
Are we seeking God or seeking knowledge in our lives?
