Matthew 10:40
If we receive a Christian we are receiving Christ. And if we receive Christ we are also receiving God the Father. Jesus is highlighting the union and community that God’s love produces.
Following Jesus means we are clinging to Jesus while also holding on to our neighbors. We receive Jesus through his Apostles and their disciples. And then we are meant to continue spreading God’s word.
Are we aware that we must have received God’s word through someone? And they themselves must have received it from someone else? Can we think about how Jesus was spread from his Apostles down to us today?
Let us think of how we can continue this flow of God’s love today. Our work will build upon the work of many disciples from many years ago. All we are asked is to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and bring others to Christ.
Do we act as a church community and come together before Jesus with our problems?
Are we blocking others from praying to Jesus or do we feel rejected by other Christians?
