Giving God's Love

Are we having the same joy when we share with others or are we giving purely out of obligation?

2 Corinthians 9:7

God always gives away bountifully. This is best expressed by giving us Jesus. God did not hold back Jesus. We too are meant to give generously to God and our neighbors.

Are we, however, performing acts of charity with sorrow? Are we showing others how reluctant we are in our giving? To give as God gives is to do it out of love and free will.

If we are giving out of obligation then we are not imitating God. It will be seen by others when we give and they may not accept our offering because they can see it comes from a disingenuous place.

Let us regain our joy by focusing on how much God loves us. Let us be moved by God’s generosity and give in the same way. Let us catch ourselves when we aren’t giving cheerfully and correct our behavior.

Welcoming the Family Abroad

Not many Christians are leaving their homes to do God's work abroad but Anita and Curt Klueg did, even as a family with children. In this interview they share their experience as Christian missioners abroad through programs like the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They highlight the challenges of work and raising a family as well as the benefits of immersing themselves in the Kenyan culture. Now back in the US, they speak on how transformed the entire household remains in their personal and professional life to this very day.
